Newcastle v Benfica LIVE 21/10/2025
Newcastle welcome José Mourinho’s Benfica to St James’ Park in this UEFA Champions League (UCL) clash looking to find the consistency that’s been lacking thus far this term. Match News and Current Form Newcastle bounced back from their 2-1 defeat to Barcelona on UCL matchday one by beating Union Saint-Gilloise 4-0 on the road, and they’re once again looking for a reaction after losing 2-1 to Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Portugal v Ireland LIVE 11/10/2025
Portugal have made a perfect start to their World Cup qualifying (WCQ) campaign and another win here would further damage Ireland’s dwindling hopes of reaching next summer’s finals. Match News and Current Form Portugal have started their WCQ Group F campaign with two victories, although they were pushed hard by Hungary in their most recent fixture and needed a late goal to seal a 3-2 win.
OVI - RMA | R. Oviedo - Real Madrid
Real Oviedo continue their hunt for their first points since promotion by hosting Real Madrid, the team with more La Liga titles than any other (36). Match News and Current Form There was to be no fairytale for Real Oviedo as they launched their first Spanish top-flight campaign since 2000/01 with a 2-0 defeat at Villarreal last Friday, becoming the first team to miss a penalty and go down to ten men in a La Liga opener since 2019/20.
PSG - ANG | PSG - Angers
Paris Saint-Germain are back at the Parc des Princes for the new Ligue 1 season, with Angers facing opposition from the French capital for the second time in as many games. Match News and Current Form Champions in each of the last four Ligue 1 campaigns, PSG showed their considerable strength in depth by beating Nantes 1-0 on Sunday, with what was virtually a second team.
PSG - RMA | PSG - Real Madrid
UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain meet Real Madrid in an all-European FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) semi-final, with Kylian Mbappé potentially lining up against his former club for the first time since leaving for Spain. Match News and Current Form PSG overcame two late red cards to beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in the quarter-finals to make it three consecutive CWC wins without conceding - the ideal response to losing their second group game 1-0 to Botafogo.
RMA - PAC | Real Madrid - Pachuca
Real Madrid drew their first game of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (CWC), and Pachuca lost theirs, so there’s plenty riding on this rematch of the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup final as both teams aim to get a first win under their belts. Match News and Current Form Madrid comfortably won that H2H clash 3-0, and were close to beating Al-Hilal on Wednesday (D 1-1) only to see Federico Valverde’s late penalty saved.
RMA - ALH | Real Madrid - Al Hilal
The Xabi Alonso era begins for the record winners (5 titles) of the Club World Cup (CWC), Real Madrid, when they meet Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, a team who’ve enjoyed great success domestically and in continental football, finishing as runners-up to Madrid in the 2022 CWC.
PAL - FCP | Palmeiras - FC Porto
Match four of the Club World Cup (CWC) is a Group A fixture between 2021 runners-up Palmeiras, one of Brazil’s most successful clubs, and Porto from Portugal, who are making their debut in this competition despite winning 86 major trophies.
MKD - BEL | North Macedonia - Belgium
After starting their 2026 World Cup qualification (WCQ) campaign by beating Liechtenstein 3-0 and drawing 1-1 with Wales, North Macedonia sit top of Group J, although next up are Belgium, a side yet to commence their WCQ campaign. Blagoja Milevski’s side are now unbeaten in almost a year (W6, D2) with all six of those wins impressively seeing them keep a clean sheet too.
NAP - CAG | Napoli - Cagliari
The Serie A title looks set to be decided this Friday evening, with Napoli still leading Inter Milan by one point after both sides drew at the weekend. Napoli know that a win against Cagliari guarantees them a fourth Scudetto in their history, while matching Inter’s result against Como will also get the job done, but if they lose and Inter draw, the two teams will contest a one-off decider at a neutral venue.
RMA - MAL | Real Madrid - Mallorca
Carlo Ancelotti’s hopes of bidding farewell to the Bernabéu by lifting the La Liga title are almost certainly gone after Real Madrid lost a thrilling El Clásico 4-3 to Barcelona on Sunday. Now trailing their fierce rivals by seven points with three matches remaining, all the reigning champions can do is win those games and hope Barcelona collapse.
PSG - ARS | PSG - Arsenal
PSG hold a slender advantage over Arsenal after winning the first leg of this UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final 1-0 in London last week. With the Ligue 1 title wrapped up, they are still on for a historic treble as they prepare for a sixth consecutive European fixture against English opponents (W3, L2), four of which were decided by a one-goal margin, as was Saturday’s 2-1 league defeat away to Strasbourg in which they rested several players.
RSO - BIL | Real Sociedad - Ath Bilbao
Real Sociedad have opted to stick with what they know by confirming that current B-team boss Sergio Francisco will replace Imanol Alguacil at the season’s end. Both will be hoping it’s a campaign they finish strongly, as ahead of the 193rd Basque derby against local rivals Athletic Bilbao, Sociedad need to rediscover some form after going three matches without a win in La Liga (D1, L2).
RMA - CEL | Real Madrid - Celta Vigo
After losing the Copa del Rey final 3-2 to Barcelona, all Real Madrid have to play for this season is the La Liga title. Los Blancos’ four-point deficit to the leaders pre-round means that defending their crown is a tall order, so winning here against Celta Vigo feels essential if Carlo Ancelotti’s side are to keep their hopes alive ahead of next weekend’s showdown with league leaders Barcelona.
BAR - INT | Barcelona - Inter
Barcelona enter this UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final first leg against Inter Milan on a high having beaten rivals Real Madrid 3-2 after extra-time to win the Copa del Rey for a record-extending 32nd time on Saturday. After playing an extra 30 minutes, they’ll appreciate the extra day’s rest they’ve had over their Italian counterparts as they prepare for a 17th European meeting, aiming to build on their solid H2H record (W8, D5, L3).
BAR - RMA | Barcelona - Real Madrid
The Copa del Rey final pits Barcelona, the team that have won this competition more than anyone else (31 times), against great rivals Real Madrid in a first El Clásico at this stage since 2013/14. Barcelona lost 2-1 on that occasion, but they’ve comprehensively won the last two H2Hs and top the La Liga table, so will start as favourites as they bid for their first Copa del Rey title since 2020/21 when they beat Athletic Club 4-0.
CRY - AST | Crystal Palace - Aston Villa
Crystal Palace are preparing for their second FA Cup semi-final in four seasons hoping to banish the memory of their 2-0 loss to Chelsea at this stage in 2021/22. They would have liked to be carrying better form into this clash with Aston Villa, with Palace winning just one of their six games (D3, L2) since their quarter-final win against Fulham, but they do at least boast a good recent H2H record having lost none of their last four meetings (W3, D1).
NEW - CRY | Newcastle - Crystal Palace
Newcastle United further boosted their hopes of a top-five finish, and the UEFA Champions League football that comes with it, by beating Manchester United 4-1 on Sunday. It was an admirable performance given manager Eddie Howe had been taken ill during the week and he later congratulated his players from his hospital bed on securing their fourth consecutive league victory.
INT - BAY | Inter - Bayern Munich
It’s advantage Inter Milan as they lead Bayern Munich 2-1 heading into the second leg of this UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarter-final, particularly as they’ve progressed from 21 of the last 23 UCL/European Cup knockout ties in which they led after the first leg. The Serie A leaders are in formidable form as they haven’t lost a competitive fixture since mid-February (W9, D3), most recently beating Cagliari 3-1 on Saturday.

Conflict by design: Stafford Act incompatibility with Alaska tribal sovereignty
Abstract The Robert T. Stafford Act unintentionally marginalizes Alaska’s Tribes and hinders their ability to exercise sovereignty following disasters. Although there has been significant academic analysis of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act since its passage in 1971, the monumental agreement that settled Alaska Native aboriginal land claims was not critically considered during the creation of the Stafford Act, nearly two decades later in 1988.
Arsenal v Olympiacos Piraeus LIVE 01/10/2025
The 13th meeting between Arsenal and Olympiacos has the potential to be unlucky for one side as it’s a H2H that’s never previously produced a draw. Match News and Current Form After beating Athletic Bilbao 2-0 on matchday one, Arsenal are on a run of five consecutive UEFA Champions League (UCL) group/league phase victories, their longest such sequence in almost 20 years.

John Pennington: Labour is punishing motorists in Bradford
Cllr John Pennington is the Leader of the Conservative Group on Bradford Council My Labour-led local authority has announced that it is to use the services of a telephone parking payment provider called RingGo whilst drumming up even more ways to persecute the motorist. In what is becoming tradition, new schemes are too often ill-conceived and certainly never fully thought through. I will address parking charges and their effect upon decimated town centres later.

Cllr John Pennington is the Leader of the Conservative Group on Bradford Council West Yorkshire consists of five Labour-controlled Authorities. Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says he is confident his side will finish in the top four come the end of the season. On the field, the Bhoys sealed a 2-0 victory that put them one step closer to a 50th league title. However, the match was marred by the behaviour of Celtic supporters when a firecracker was thrown onto the pitch. Soon after Ryan Christie established a two-goal cushion for the Bhoys, the object landed close to St Mirren goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky.
Only Sakho absent for landmark Spurs clash
Crystal Palace will be out to spoil Tottenham Hotspur’s moving-in party this evening when they play the first game at the North London club’s new stadium. The Eagles beat Spurs 2-0 in the FA Cup fourth round earlier in the season but have not won a league game away at tonight’s opponents since 1997. Rangers boss Gerrard discusses Old Firm defeat
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is running out of patience with striker Alfredo Morelos after he was sent off during Sunday’s 2-1 Scottish Premiership defeat to Celtic. The Light Blues were 1-0 down to their bitter rivals when the Colombian made their task harder by lashing out at Scott Brown and receiving his marching orders. It was the fifth time Morelos has been shown red this season and he is now facing a four-match ban as a result of his indiscipline.
