It’s another huge week for music, so take a deep breath and pull out your calendar! There are multiple styles of vocal music, different expressions of piano, music for our country’s semiquincentennial, and classical hyperpop as just a small portion of what’s going on.

It’s the ides of March, and while I wouldn’t say to beware of any of the music happening this week, there is a bit of heaviness in some of the sung works. There are also some pretty big stars in town, video game music, and the first of a series of concerts among the art at Philadelphia’s newest museum.

We’re already barreling toward the end of January, and we have a really cool slate of performances this weekend. You can find some lighter fare down in Wilmington, while here in town there’s music that used to inspire riots; alternate takes on the birth of our country; and an experiment from Curtis alumni and students that should yield some fascinating results.
