Religion, Faith and Values: Summer vacation
Summer is often the time of vacation for families. It is important to take a break and rest. Take a “respite”; a great word that is often neglected in our fast paced life. Webster defines a vacation as; 1. a period spent away from home or business in travel or recreation. 2. a scheduled period during which activity (as of a court or school) is suspended. b : a period of exemption from work granted to an employee. 3 : a respite or a time of respite from something : intermission.
Lawful? Yes; Right? No
“Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple road, And said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they smote him with their hands. Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.”(John 19:1-4) A great injustice was done at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. God used that injustice to accomplish His will and purpose.
Religion, Faith & Values: Where would I be?
Where would I be if not the Lord? Does the Lord take Sides? Psalm 124:1-2, declares, “If it had not been the Lord on our side...” This must have been one of the most popular songs sung by the Children of Israel on their pilgrimage to worship at the Temple in Jerusalem. They had been through many disasters, pestilence, wars and tribulations; yet they still remained. God had sustained His people. King David wrote this song as a testament to God for protecting the Nation of Israel.
Consumer Appetite for Beef and Other Animal Proteins Remains Strong
There is a massive demand for protein and many product developers are turning to beef to meet the demand. As with the rest of the food industry, the meat industry is evolving to meet new consumer needs and preferences in this increasingly globalized economy. The evolution comes from shifts in what today’s consumers value when they decide to purchase beef and other meats. In North America, the cuts of fresh meat consumers see in supermarkets have been relatively consistent for some time.
Formulation of Stuffed & Filled Food Products
Stuffed sweet and savory delights, such as pierogi, calzones, pocket pastries, and filled pastas present challenges to processors. The biggest hurdle: Keeping the insides sumptuous—and inside—while having the outsides maintain their texture and integrity, be it fluffy, flaky, or crunchy. For the stability of baked and microwaveable appetizers, it’s important that the product be able to hold its shape and cook evenly and all the way through.
Batters and Coatings Combine Functionality and Flavor with Texture Appeal and Visual Enticement
The addition of coatings to foods is more than structural. Batters and breadings are used to enhance the whole eating experience, and perhaps even add some unexpected twist. Whether a fluffy beer batter on a piece of fried fish, a crunchy cornflake coating on an oven-fried chicken drumstick, or even a thin salt-and-spice crust on a steak, the outside is the first line of attraction for any food.
Wage Growth after the Great Recession
Many commentators have noted that nominal wage growth has been lower than expected since the end of the Great Recession (see, for example, Danninger 2016). In particular, nominal wage growth was below trend from late 2009 to early 2015—the period covered by most studies—despite a decrease in unemployment.
