Boy Scouts of America Drops “Boy” in Name Change
IRVING, TX – The 115-year-old Boy Scouts of America officially changed its name Saturday to “Scouting America” in an effort to rebrand as “gender-neutral.” Even though the Boy Scouts were originally founded to teach young boys how to become strong men, it has dropped “boy” from its name to welcome both genders in the name of inclusivity. According to its CEO Roger Krone, the organization changed its name to break down “all the barriers” to welcome “everyone” regardless of who they are.
Lying about pro-life laws to push Amendment 4: ‘deceptive’ and ‘dangerous’
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – I don’t like to call people liars. It’s not polite, nor does it believe the best about the motives of others. But the deliberate lies and misrepresentations being broadcast by the pro-abortion proponents in “Yes on 4” TV commercials regarding Florida’s Amendment 4 are over the top and objectively false. Even mainstream left-leaning media and news agencies are waking up to these false claims. The Tampa Bay Times newspaper fact check gave one ad a “Mostly False” rating.

Gov. DeSantis is right. Amendment 4 would strike down laws prohibiting late abortions
A recent Tampa Bay Times news article titled “DeSantis misleads while taking a swipe at Florida abortion amendment” stated that Gov. Ron DeSantis “mischaracterized” the extreme reach of the Florida abortion amendment on the November ballot by saying it allows abortion until birth. John Stemberger [ Courtesy of John Stemberger ] The governor is right about Amendment 4, and this headline couldn’t be more wrong. Amendment 4 is extreme and not what it seems. Most amendments have definitions.
Florida went from an abortion destination to a pro-life state overnight, but it could all be reversed in November
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For those of us on the front lines of the pro-life fight in Florida, it was emotional witnessing our state transformed into one of the most pro-life in the nation overnight after decades of setbacks and very little protection for the preborn in the Sunshine State.
Killing the Boy Scouts
This week the Boys Scouts of America neutered themselves even further by removing the very DNA of what it had been as an organization by cutting the word “boy” out of its name. In 2019, the organization changed its name from “Boy Scouts” to the more generic “Scouts BSA” to be more inclusive to girls joining local Boy Scout troops.
Honoring the legacy of life: One year after Dobbs
By John Stemberger, CP Op-Ed Contributor | Saturday, June 24, 2023 Where were you a year ago when you heard the news that Roe v. Wade was overturned? I was getting dressed while checking the SCOTUS blog report on my iPhone watching the new cases appear. Suddenly, there it was … Dobbs v. Jackson. Nervous and fumbling around, I dropped my phone.

The true origin of Florida’s privacy right - not abortion
“Objection-- Hearsay.” This is the best way to respond to the narrative laid out by Kathryn Varn in her article for the USA Today Network entitled, “Florida has a unique right protecting abortion.
5 Pro-Life Strategies for Post-Roe America
Must Reads Big Tech Border Crisis China Critical Race Theory Election Integrity Letters Podcasts In December, I returned home to Florida from Washington, D.C., after watching the oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The Supreme Court’s upcoming decision in that case, especially in light of the recent leaked draft opinion, is likely to significantly undermine or even completely overturn Roe v. Wade in June.

Column: Four tests for amending the Florida Constitution
The Florida Constitution has become a laughingstock and should be taken more seriously. Our state’s most important and fundamental legal document addresses everything from legitimate, fundamental human rights to the highly questionable regulation of pregnant pigs and fishing nets. In short, the Florida Constitution is bloated. The average state constitution has approximately 26,000 words; Florida’s Constitution has more than 44,000 words. The U.S. Constitution has only 8,770 words.
Opinion: FPRA's goal is to restore original intent of privacy amendment
“All political power is inherent with the people.” These are the opening words of Article 1, Section 1 in Florida’s Constitution. The Florida Supreme Court has violated these words and consistently usurped the power of the people they swore to uphold. For the last 37 years, the left-leaning majority of Florida’s high court has ignored the clear intent of voters when we adopted our state’s constitutional privacy clause (Article 1, Section 23).
John Stemberger: Privacy amendment is about privacy, not abortion
Former Florida Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Bell filed a public proposal with the Constitution Revision Commission (CRC) which is now called the “Florida Privacy Restoration Act.” This amendment which I am sponsoring states: "Every natural person has the right to be let alone and free from governmental intrusion into the person's private life with respect to privacy of information and the disclosure thereof, except as otherwise provide herein.
POINT: Supreme Court Ruling Devastating, but This Isn't Over
This sad day in history will forever reflect that the highest court of our land ignored the rule of law and the will of 51 million people in over 38 states in an illegitimate act of raw judicial power and arrogance. Though countless millions of U.S. voters have defined marriage as between a man and a woman through the legitimate democratic process, a handful of judges in one decision today has disenfranchised them.
3 questions evangelicals should ask about Donald Trump
The really puzzling thing is that Donald Trump defies every stereotype of a candidate you would typically expect Christians to vote for. How much does the average evangelical Christian supporting Trump know about his history? Very little, it would seem. Many are content to follow the no-nonsense persona, rather than dig into Trump's past record. Trump professes to be a Christian and says the Bible is his favorite book.
3 questions evangelicals should ask Trump
This column contains language that might be considered offensive to some readers. (CNN) -- We are experiencing something extraordinary in American politics: A man who has never held public office appears to have become a force of nature this election cycle, and he is achieving this, according to polls, with no small amount of support from evangelical Christians. The really puzzling thing is that Donald Trump defies every stereotype of a candidate you would typically expect Christians to vote for.
Tiger Bay Clubs have lost their way: My Word
Tiger Bay Clubs are respected, regional civic organizations in Florida, but the groups are rapidly losing their reputation as fair and even-handed. TBC promotes itself as a "premier nonpartisan political club" that exists to "represent our region's diversity and a broad spectrum of the views and interests ..." Unfortunately, when presenting controversial social issues, TBC has little interest in presenting a diversity of viewpoints. Exhibit A is John Morgan's 2014 medical-marijuana campaign.
