The theft of critical suppression equipment, including pumps, is hampering crews at the Bald Range wildfire near Summerland, the B.C. Wildfire Service said Wednesday. “We need this equipment for suppression activities, and we cannot afford to have theft of this critical equipment,” information officer Erin Catherall said during a 2 p.m. update Wednesday, Aug. 19.
