John Bartlett’s Biography

I am a British freelance journalist based between London and South America, specialising in Latin American politics and economics.

I have written for the Guardian and BBC, and am also a contributor for the Economist Intelligence Unit and Latin News, writing about political and macroeconomic developments in Central America and Mexico.

I hold an MSc from the University of Oxford in Latin American Studies, speak both Spanish and Portuguese, and have lived in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Spain.

I am also the founder and editor of Jericho, a current affairs website that publishes news analysis and interviews, and have previously worked for the United Nations in Chile, at El Salvador's Embassy in London, and at the British and Colombian Chamber of Commerce.
