That often-asked question probably isn’t something local voters have to worry about, but the first day of the candidate filing period passed Monday with no one registering to run for several area municipal seats that are up for grabs this fall. The filing period has closed for another office — that of Soil and Water District Supervisor — and two candidates did file, according to the Surry County Board of Elections.
