When a Lancaster County detective asked John Stoltzfus how he killed four unwanted Sheepadoodle puppies in October 2023, he told them, “We have a way of doing it. We took good care of them,” according to charging documents. Now, after two years and two failed attempts to get Stoltzfus into a diversionary court program, his attorneys say Stoltzfus humanely, painlessly and instantaneously euthanized the puppies in a manner consistent with Pennsylvania law.

Crime Published: Jul. 07, 2026, 12:53 p.m. The Perry County District Attorney’s Office has asked the court to revoke the bail of a Marysville man arrested yesterday on charges he tried beating his mother to death. Zachary Conroy, 43, was out on bail Monday afternoon when police say he severely beat his mother outside his Church Street home in Marysville. He eventually retreated inside his home, leading to an hours-long standoff that ended with Conroy surrendering.
