I am an opinion columnist for the Bismarck Tribune, endeavoring to help others overcome difficult circumstances by promoting compassion, honesty, and problem solving. In my columns, I often draw on my experiences as an attorney, author, Army veteran, and father of a child with a challenging medical condition.
For approximately six years, I served on active duty in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. While in the Army I served as both a prosecutor and defense attorney and deployed to Afghanistan as a claims and rule of law attorney. I received my law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law and my undergraduate degree in history and philosophy from Texas A&M University.
