Interview
What was your first job as a journalist?
Freelance author and forensic analyst.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
For 20 years
How is social media changing news?
Quicker. More voices. More open pathways for truth. More open pathways for lies. More work for the readership.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
With the emphasis on the "fictional," anyone who ignores computerized election theft. I also like John Cheever and Anne Tyler.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To me it means I keep my nose embedded in a stinking pile of s--t while others get to turn away when they don't like the smell.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Via email.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Twitter (of course), Excel, FastStone (screencapture), Constant Contact, LinkedIn, PRWeb, CreateSpace.
What's your favorite social network?
None
Who do you wish followed you?
Dean Baquet, Terry Gross, Amy Goodman . . . and millions of Americans who should be a lot more aware of what is happening to their votes.
Why did you become a journalist?
I edit to support myself and non-MSM views. I cover elections (beginning 16 years ago) because it doesn't get more 'core' and it went rotten.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Music reviews
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
"Trump Warned of a Rigged Election - Was He Right?"
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be honest. Be brave. Don't build a career on 'compromises' that keep you up at night.
When's the best time to pitch you?
If it has to do with US election security and fraud, anytime!
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Examine the sequence of evidence destruction, including human witnesses, to conceal election rigging in the US.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Anything working too hard to exonerate Trump; for example, suggesting that he "inherited" a border crisis.
What's your favorite drink?
A chocolate malted.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Refereeing soccer or playing piano.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The Week; The Sunday New York Times
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Computerized vote-counting manipulation must be a far-out 'conspiracy theory' as it could 'never happen here' in the 'Beacon of Democracy.'
