Radio New Zealand is a New Zealand public service radio broadcaster and Crown entity formed by the Radio New Zealand Act 1995. It operates news, current affairs and arts network Radio New Zealand National and classical music and jazz network Radio New Zealand Concert with full government funding from New Zealand on Air. Since 2014, the organisation focuses increasingly on its production of digital content in audio, video and written forms.
The organisation plays a central role in New Zealand public broadcasting. Under law, it is responsible for the Radio New Zealand International Pacific shortwave service. It has a statutory role under the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002 to act as a lifeline utility in emergency situations. The Parliament of New Zealand also fully funds its AM Network, for the broadcast of Parliamentary proceedings. Source

Dozens of academic papers have references made up by AI - research
Dozens of academic papers have fake references in them that have been made up by AI, according to new research from the University of Auckland. The study looked at more than 3000 peer-reviewed papers published in the last few years and found 2 percent of them - or 69 papers - had fake references hallucinated by AI. Some of the references had realistic author and journal names and publication details - but when the researchers went looking for them, they did not exist.
More women disclosing family violence to workplaces

Under the Domestic Violence - Victim's Protection Act, introduced eight years ago, those affected by family violence are entitled to up to 10 days of paid leave a year and can request flexible working arrangements.
New Southland wind turbines already adding power to the grid

On Wednesday, the company marked the official opening of the $600 million wind farm near Gore. OceanaGold seeks fast-track approval for Macraes mine extension

The company says the project would add more than a decade to the life of New Zealand's largest gold mine and support hundreds of jobs.
