Above Video: Your Friday Morning Headlines Nine historically Black Colleges and Universities will bring their marching-band traditions, school pride and signature sounds to Savannah for the 2026 Big HBCU Battle of the Bands: Battle for the South. The event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13, at Theodore A. Wright Stadium. The main showcase begins at 4 p.m. and will feature drumlines, precision marching, dance routines and other performances celebrating the history and culture of HBCU bands.

Savannah Philharmonic opens season with Grand Canyon, The Planets

Above Video: Your Morning Headlines The Savannah Philharmonic will launch its 2026-27 season with an evening of music inspired by the landscapes of the American Southwest and the mysteries of the cosmos. The season-opening concert is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. The program will feature Ferde Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite and Gustav Holst's The Planets.
