ABSTRACT Microsporidians are increasingly recognized as emerging pathogens in aquatic ecosystems. Using an integrative morphological and molecular approach, we report Pleistophora hyphessobryconis infecting three native fish species (Titanolebias elongatus, Cnesterodon cf. decemmaculatus, and Potamorrhaphis eigenmanni) and the frog Boana pulchella in Argentina.

Iguazú (LaVozDeCataratas) Según el reporte científico del CONICET, de acuerdo a la descripción, el pez pertenece a un grupo conocido como Killi, presente en América y África y cuyas especies se caracterizan por una gran capacidad de adaptación que les permite sobrevivir en ambientes acuáticos efímeros que se secan completamente durante una parte del año.
