Lowes Foods, a Carolinas-based grocer headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is expanding into Spartanburg County. An existing KJs Market at 12189 West Greenville Highway in Lyman is being converted into a full-service Lowes Foods. Renovations began in 2026. All Kj’s Market store employees will retain their jobs at Lowes Foods, according to a news release. Both Lowe's Foods and KJ’s Market are owned by parent company Alex Lee, Inc., based in Hickory, North Carolina.

A new Target store is coming to Seneca, bringing more than 150 jobs, expanded grocery options, and new retail services to Oconee County. The store will be located at 1810 Sandifer Boulevard and is expected to employ more than 150 team members, according to a company news release. At approximately 129,000 square feet, the location will offer a range of shopping options and services aimed at local residents and Clemson University students.

(KGET) — Country music superstar Gretchen Wilson has been announced as a performer for the 2026 Kern County Fair, organizers said Thursday. Wilson, whose hits include “Redneck Woman” and “Here for the Party” is set to perform on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. as part of the Hard Rock Casino Tejon Concert Series at the Budweiser Pavilion.
