Video games have always been one of the best ways to keep up with friends, and Big Walk is one of the best new ways to do it. “Walk and talk” is the genre bubble that many are putting Big Walk into. That, however, may be too much of an oversimplification. The implication of “walk and talk” is that the players are the main focus, and takes away from the actual game systems available. Of more standard genre conventions, Big Walk is more of a multiplayer puzzle-adventure game.

There are many games that try to emulate the 3D platformers of the late 90s and early 2000s, but few develop their own style in the process. Teeto beats those odds and stands out on its own. Teeto is an adorable mascot character supported by Nory the rabbit, who created the former. Surprisingly, there is actually a robust story behind Nory’s identity and why this happened, and the wider supporting cast also make the world feel lived in; like it had a history before you arrived.

A deep and touching narrative can be the soul that gives purpose to all other elements in a game. Unfortunately in Will: Follow the Light, there simply aren’t enough elements of the game to even be carried by the narrative. Will: Follow the Light is a story first and foremost. One with puzzles and input mechanics, but a story still.
