You Ain’t Nothin’ but a Bitch with a Wig On By Shanna Christmas & Jen Davidson, 40 pgs.
Jul 17, 2024 Comedian Shanna Christmas has put many years as an occupational therapist assistant under her gait belt. And for over a decade she has been working in nursing homes. You Ain’t Nothin’... is a comic that collects the bizarre, sexual, and often racist comments a Black female OT assistant hears on the job. Yeah, it sounds rough but Shanna makes it funny.
Where to submit internationally
Why limit yourself to being published in lit mags in the U.S., Canada, or the U.K? There are many countries with English-language lit mags you can also submit your work to. For example, my poem "My Monkey Grammarian" was published in Hong Kong and even included in a review! You can read more about it here. Thanks to Authors Publish and Aerogramme Studio for compiling the original lists I used as resources to start my research for the list below.
Cacophony By Josh Medsker, 116 pgs.
Cacophony By Josh Medsker, 116 pgs. Josh Medsker has put together a collection of poems inspired by the writing of both HP Lovecraft and Nick Blinko of Rudmentary Peni. Grotesque artwork accompanies each poem—tons of skulls, souls flying from bodies ,and the like. If this stuff is in your wheelhouse, you could do way worse. –Michael T. I’ve also researched and added some others to the list, based on suggestions from experienced writers. The list is long, so I wasn't able to provide additional details or links for all of them. Those that I've featured on my blog previously are detailed below, followed by a list of all the rest. Read the guidelines carefully.
