Intense heat and humidity will continue to grip Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley over the next couple of days, though a significant pattern change also appears to be just around the corner later this week! Staying hydrated will be a MUST this afternoon as heat index values approach 115° for many locations along the I-40 corridor. Tuesday could be even hotter in some spots believe it or not, as a boundary approaches the area.

Temperatures should remain right around average on this fabulous Friday, as cloud coverage and rain chances hang around the area! Unfortunately, the same warm front responsible for those rain chances will REALLY heat things up as we head into next week. In fact, many locations will be well over 100° for an extended stretch, with extreme heat warnings likely areawide by Monday! Tune into KNWA Today at 6 AM and FOX24 News at 7 AM to see just how high those temperatures will go!
