1. Introduction Aquaculture, the farming of aquatic organisms including fish, mollusks, crustaceans, and aquatic plants such as seaweed, has emerged as a critical sector in global food production [1]. Due to the depletion of wild fish stocks and the increasing global demand for protein, this rapid expansion of aquaculture is a crying need. Over the past few decades, this sector has grown exponentially, surpassing wild-capture fisheries to become a major contributor to the food supply [2].
