1. Introduction Within the expansive domain of the Flaviviridae family, a distinguished assemblage of arthropod-borne viruses, the Ilheus virus (ILHV) emerges as a prominent member of the Flavivirus genus. ILHV’s transmission primarily hinges upon mosquitoes of the Aedes genus, which share vectors with other globally consequential flaviviruses such as Aedes aegypti, the vector responsible for propagating formidable viruses including dengue, Zika, and yellow fever.
