The results of studies of materials for hydroabrasive and cavitation resistance are presented. The best options were investigated and put into practice. It is proposed to replace imported electrodes for cavitation-resistant cladding with a domestic analog developed by the Central Materials Research Institute. The article examines the reasons for excessive wear of runner blade operating mechanisms of hydraulic turbines in secondary frequency regulation (SFR) mode. We propose a method for enhancing the equipment service life by modifying the algorithm for maintaining the guide vane opening/runner blade angle (on-cam) relationship.
