In one of those fabulous twists of fate this reviewer found herself at a The Bobby Lees gig in Dublin at the recommendation of a friend. It was the night before Fontaines D.C. played a twice postponed, due to the pandemic, gig at Iveagh Gardens in July 2022. A late night show upstairs in Whelans, what transpired was a gig I will never forget. Once of those pinch me moments. “Did that really happen?” . The band from Woodstock, New York were exhilarating.

Belfast quartet Makeshift Art Bar share riotous new effort ‘Discipline’ marking the second reveal from their forthcoming Marionette EP, set for release 26 June via Heist or Hit (Westside Cowboy). Fresh from supporting Chalk on their spring European tour run, as well as the group’s own Dublin and Derry headliners plus the 3Olympia show with Just Mustard, the frenetic four-piece have fast established themselves as one of the most fearless new voices in the underground scene.

Edinburgh based band Day Sleeper is Leo Bargery, Ryan Firth, Carron Miller, James Callaghan, Liam Dempsey and Edwin McLachlan. The six-piece recently released a deluxe edition of their 2025 EP This House Won’t Fold via Assai Records, incorporating new material as well as tracks from the original EP. Ahead of three gigs in Leeds, Salford and London at the end of June, God Is In The TV Zine chatted to Leo and Edwin in their Leith studio.
