North West Leicestershire is one of two county areas to have more than double the national rate of people seriously injured at work, figures show ahead of Injury Awareness Week (June 24-28). The district, including Ashby and Coalville, saw 494 people harmed in the workplace for every 100,000 workers. The figure for Blaby was 459 for every 100,000 workers, while the overall rate for England is 212 injured workers per 100,000.
