Bellwood kids' fair is Thursday

Tomorrow evening, June 25, from 4 to 6 p.m., all kids are welcome to a free kids’ fair sponsored by The Door in Bellwood. This fun and free event will be held at the Bellwood Community Park next to the pool, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Kids of all ages under 18 are welcome, but those 10 and under must be accompanied by an older family member. David Taylor of The Door in Bellwood said that a teen group from the Manheim BIC Church near Lancaster are coming to the area to serve.

Hooked on success: Local anglers head to nationals

Two young members of the Tyrone Bassmasters won a tournament last summer at Foster J. Sayers Reservoir (Sayers Dam) in Bald Eagle State Park, located about 45 miles northeast of Tyrone. The pair are now headed to compete at nationals. Jayden Savino, 13, and Kolbe Fletcher, 14, both of Tyrone, will travel with their boat captain and Jayden’s father, Doug Savino, on July 24 and 25 to compete in the Bassmaster Junior National Championship.
