World Cup fever arrived on Galveston Island Thursday morning when the Netherlands' famous orange fan bus arrived. It got to the island earlier than expected, drawing crowds of excited fans eager to catch a glimpse of one of soccer's most recognizable symbols. The iconic bus -- a staple of Dutch soccer fandom -- drew orange-clad fans who gathered to see it up close. Fans were spotted going up and down the length of the bus as more people arrived to join the celebration.

Houston City Council is set to vote on the city's next budget, and one of the biggest debates is over whether to implement a $5 trash fee for residents. If approved, the fee would be added to water bills for households that get city trash service. The proposed fee has been discussed for weeks at City Council, in community meetings, and online. Supporters argue that the city needs a new revenue source to help pay for solid waste services without raising the property tax rate.
