A multiscale geospatial analysis integrating explainable machine learning to characterize spatial disparities in melanoma mortality associated with environmental justice and healthcare access in the contiguous United States
Abstract Background: Melanoma mortality exhibits profound geographical disparities associated with complex sociodemographic, environmental, and healthcare factors. Traditional spatial models may not fully capture the multi-scale heterogeneity underlying these geographic disparities. This study aimed to characterize the spatial heterogeneity and operational scales of factors associated with county-level melanoma mortality across the United States.
Mapping the mortality niche of chronic lower respiratory diseases complicated by respiratory failure: a multiscale spatial analysis of environmental and social drivers
Abstract Background: Chronic lower respiratory diseases complicated by respiratory failure as a multiple cause of death, denoted as RF-CLRD, represent a critical public health challenge with significant spatial heterogeneity across the United States.

Disparity in Mpox awareness and vaccine hesitancy: a cross-sectional study of 3,483 university students in Northwest China
1 Introduction Mpox is a re-emerging infectious zoonotic disease caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV), belonging to genus Orthopoxvirus, first identified in laboratory monkeys in 1958 (1). The first documented human infection occurred in 1970 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Historically, MPXV transmission was confined to Central and West Africa, with sporadic outbreaks reported globally prior to 2022.

Genetic variations and carcinogenicity analysis of E6/E7 oncogenes in HPV31 and HPV35 in Taizhou, China - Virology Journal
The infection rates of the HPV31 and HPV35 types are extremely low among Chinese women. HPV31 and HPV35 infection rates were approximately 7.0% and 5.5%, respectively, either alone or in combination with other types [8, 9, 10, 11]. Between 2013 and 2023, a single HPV31 infection was detected in 150 women (median age 42.0 years; range 20–69 years) and a single HPV35 infection was detected in 133 women (median age 44.0 years; range 21–71 years) were selected in this study.

Phylogenetic analysis and antigenic epitope prediction for E6 and E7 of Alpha-papillomavirus 9 in Taizhou, China - BMC Genomics
This study was ethically approved by the Institutional Medical Ethics Review Board of Taizhou Hospital, China. Cervical exfoliated cells were collected from women who underwent cervical cancer screening at Taizhou Hospital. The specimens were collected by cervical scraping and stored in 2.5 ml of cell preservation buffer at -20 °C. Before specimen collection, written informed consent was obtained from all participants, and the participants’ privacy was strictly protected.
Cervical carcinogenesis risk association of HPV33 E6 and E7 genetic variations in Taizhou, Southeast China - Virology Journal
Characteristics of the study population From February 2014 to December 2020, a total of 189 women with a single HPV33 infection were selected. The average age was 42.3 years (range 19–73 years). A total of 185 (97.9%) sequences of the entire E6 and E7 genes from HPV33 were successfully obtained. Due to the small number of HPV copies, the remaining 4 (2.1%) sequences were excluded.
