Mental health hospitalizations associated with sustained extreme heat in multiple countries
Abstract Heatwaves are increasing in frequency and intensity, yet their impacts on hospitalizations for mental and behavioural disorders remain insufficiently quantified across countries. Here we show, using a time-stratified case-crossover analysis of 2,618,307 warm-season hospitalization records from 852 locations in Brazil, Canada, Chile and New Zealand from 2000 to 2019, that sustained extreme heat was associated with increased hospitalization risk.
Evolution and Stabilization of Coordinatively Unsaturated Cr 3+ Sites over the Cr - CoO x /ZrO 2 Surface in a Lattice Oxygen-Mediated MvK Mechanism Click to copy article link Article link copied!
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! The CO2-assisted oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane (CO2–ODHE) was a promising approach for ethane valorization and CO2 utilization. In this work, a lattice oxygen-mediated MvK mechanism was proposed as the dominant pathway governing the catalytic cycle: coordinatively unsaturated Cr3+ sites (CrC.U.S3+) preferentially underwent selective C–H bond cleavage, while CO2 activation occurred on Co3O4.
Effects of balance and strength training protocols to improve ankle joint stability in armed recruits
Abstract To compare the effects of balance training and strength training on ankle joint stability, neuromuscular function, and injury prevention in armed recruits. A total of 1,517 male recruits participated in a 12-week intervention and were assigned to either a balance training group (BT, n = 750) or a strength training group (ST, n = 767). In addition to routine military training, the BT group performed balance-based exercises, whereas the ST group completed conventional strength training.
