Introduction Small animals, particularly those rodents, mammals, reptiles and birds that forage in the soil, may have substantial positive effects on a wide range of ecosystems properties (Coggan et al. 2018, Eldridge and Soliveres 2023). The best-known impacts of these animals are associated with sediment redistribution when they dig while foraging for food, to escape predation, or to construct habitat or shelter (Day et al. 2003, Wilson and Smith 2015, Hancock et al. 2017).

Promoting CO2 electroreduction to CO by a graphdiyne-stabilized Au nanoparticle catalyst† The electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) gives an ideal approach for producing valuable chemicals, offering dual benefits in terms of environmental preservation and carbon recycling. In this work, a strong synergistic effect is constructed by adopting electron-rich graphdiyne (GDY) as the supporting matrix, which significantly stabilizes the Au active sites and boosts the CO2RR process.
