10. Open Challenges and Future Directions The deployment of a multi-UAV system involves several challenges to overcome, ranging from the choice of infrastructure to the planning of the mission. Despite efforts in the field, most research work is still in the prototyping or experimental phase for some. Several challenges remain to be met to effectively exploit swarms in upcoming trends.
