1 Introduction Cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CCM) refers to cardiac dysfunction in patients with liver cirrhosis (LC), in the absence of known heart disease [1, 2]. Two major pathophysiological pathways are thought to contribute: (1) portal hypertension leading to gut bacterial/endotoxin translocation, and release of inflammatory cytokines, and (2) liver insufficiency with altered synthesis or metabolism of proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, bile acids, and hormones [1, 2].

Abstract Iodinated contrast agents are essential for accurate diagnostics but pose a risk of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CIAKI), primarily through oxidative stress. Current guidelines recommend intravenous hydration as the main preventive strategy. Targeted temperature management (TTM), which lowers core body temperature, has shown protective effects in ischemic conditions. However, its role in CIAKI remains unclear. This study investigated whether TTM at 33 and 36 °C can mitigate CIAKI.
