KDM4B-mediated AP2A1-K217 demethylation promotes immune evasion and anti-PD-1 therapy resistance in renal cell carcinoma
Abstract The role of non-histone lysine methylation in tumorigenesis has attracted increasing attention, and the dysregulated “writers”, “erasers” and “readers” of it are promising therapeutic targets. In this study, we demonstrated that lysine-specific demethylase 4B (KDM4B) was significantly upregulated in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), with high expression correlating with poor prognosis and immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) resistance.
YAP delactylation enhances therapy resistance in renal cell carcinoma
Abstract Lactylation is a novel lysine acylation modification, and its function and exact mechanisms remain unclear. The responsiveness to combined targeted and immunotherapy continues to be a major challenge in cancer treatment. Here, we discovered that lysine lactylation (Kla) is specifically downregulated in targeted therapy-resistant renal cancer cells and tissues.
YAP1 lactylation confers cisplatin resistance and prognostic value by suppressing ferroptosis via FOSL1 in bladder cancer
Keywords bladder cancer cisplatin resistance YAP1 lactylation ferroptosis Research topic(s) CP: cancer CP: metabolism Introduction Bladder cancer (BCa) remains a major global health burden, and cisplatin-based chemotherapy serves as the standard systemic treatment in both perioperative and metastatic settings.1,2 Adjuvant cisplatin-based chemotherapy is recommended for patients with advanced tumor stage and may confer significant survival benefits.3,4 However, only approximately 35% of...
Multimodal deep learning model for AI-based functional prognostic risk stratification in patients undergoing radical nephrectomy
|
Abstract Making the decision between technically challenging partial nephrectomy (PN) and radical nephrectomy (RN) in patients with complex renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remains a significant challenge for urologists. Rapid glomerular filtration rate (GFR) decline (annual decline >3 mL/min/1.73 m²) after RN is considered an abnormal renal function state, and if this risk can be predicted preoperatively, PN may be pursued even when technically demanding.

N6-methyladenosine-mediated upregulation of MANF promotes ER stress resistance in renal cell carcinoma - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) remains a significant clinical challenge due to its increasing incidence and resistance to conventional therapy. This study identifies an unprecedented mechanism by which mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor (MANF) contributes to RCC progression. From single-cell transcriptome, we observed a significant upregulation of MANF in RCC compared to its progenitor cells, the proximal tubular cells.
circASAP1 induces renal clear cell carcinoma ferroptosis by binding to HNRNPC and thereby regulating GPX4 - Molecular Cancer
The Chinese Academy of Sciences provided human RCC cell lines (A498, 786-O, 769P, and Caki-1), a human renal proximal tubular epithelial cell line (HK2), and a human embryonic kidney cell line (HEK293T). 786-O and 769P cells were grown in RPMI 1640 (Gibco, China), with the addition of 10% FBS (PAN-Seratech, Germany).A498, Caki-1, HK2, and HEK-293 T cells were grown in DMEM (Gibco, China) with the addition of 10% FBS (PAN-Seratech, Germany).
Exosomal circSPIRE1 mediates glycosylation of E-cadherin to suppress metastasis of renal cell carcinoma - Oncogene
The characteristics of circRNAs, including stability and high abundance, have attracted great interest in cancer research. Furthermore, the role of circRNAs in RCC is becoming better understood [17]. Nonetheless, considering the poor 5-year cancer-specific survival rates of patients with advanced RCC, the relationship between metastasis and circRNAs still requires thorough investigation [41].
