Two Birds with One Stone: Polymerized Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Small Molecules
Thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) polymers show a great potential in low-cost, large-area and flexible full-color flat-panel displays. One of the most promising design rules is based on TADF + Linker, where a small molecular TADF unit is bonded to each other by a simple linker. Unlike the expensive vacuum deposition for small molecules, these polymerized TADF small molecules (Poly-TADF-SMs) are capable of cost-effective solution processing.

Heterogeneous Post-Passivation of Inorganic Cesium Lead Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots for Efficient Electroluminescent Devices A heterogeneous post-passivation has been demonstrated by using formamidiniu bromide (FABr) to compensate the surface bromo vacancy of inorganic cesium lead halide perovskite quantum dots (QDs).

An arylphosphine oxide and phosphonate combination as solution processable electron injection layer for power-efficient PLEDs Xuefei Li, Keyan Bai, Shumeng Wang, Junqiao Ding and Lixiang Wang Abstract A solution-processable all organic mixed SPPO13:TPPO electron injection layer (EIL) has been reported.
Red-Emitting Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Polymers with Poly(fluorene-co-3,3′-dimethyl diphenyl ether) as the Backbone
A series of red-emitting thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) polymers have been designed and synthesized based on poly(fluorene-co-3,3′-dimethyl diphenyl ether) (PFDMPE) as the backbone. Compared with polyfluorene (PF, 2.16 eV), the introduction of 3,3′-dimethyl diphenyl ether into the main chain of PFDMPE leads to the increased triplet energy of 2.58 eV, which is higher enough than the tethered red TADF guest (2.13 eV) to prevent the unwanted triplet energy back-transfer.
Deep-blue emitting poly[spiro(dibenzoazasiline-10',9-silafluorene)] for power-efficient PLEDs
Starting from poly(2,7-spirosilabifluorene) (PSSiBF), a deep-blue emitting poly(5'-(5''-hexylundecyl)-2,7-dibenzoazasiline-10',9-silafluorene) (PSDBASiF) has been newly demonstrated for power-efficient PLEDs, where dibenzoazasiline instead of dibenzosilole is spiro-linked to the poly(dibenzosilole) backbone. Owing to the electron-donating nature of dibenzoazasiline, the HOMO and LUMO energy levels are found to be upshifted from -6.10/-2.40 eV of PSSiBF to -5.61/-2.16 eV of PSDBASiF.
Methoxyl modification in furo[3,2-c]pyridine based iridium complexes towards highly efficient green- and orange-emitting electrophosphorescent devices - Journal of Materials Chemistry C (RSC Publishing)
Two new furo[3,2-c]pyridine based Ir complexes, namely (4-MeOpfupy)2Ir(acac) and (3-MeOpfupy)2Ir(acac), have been designed and synthesized by introducing methoxyl into the 4- and 3-position of phenyl ring on the C^N ligand. It is found that the position of methoxyl plays an important role on the electrochemical and photophysical properties as well as electrophosphorescent device performance.
Novel furo[3,2-c]pyridine based iridium complex for high-performance organic light-emitting diodes with over 30% external quantum efficiency
A novel furo[3,2-c]pyridine based Ir complex, namely (pfupy)2Ir(acac), has been developed by replacing sulfur with oxygen in the C^N ligand. Compared with the thiophene-containing (pthpy)2Ir(acac), the LUMO level is elevated while the HOMO level keeps almost unchanged for the resultant furan-containing (pfupy)2Ir(acac).
Efficient Blue, Green, and Red Electroluminescence from Carbazole-Functionalized Poly(spirobifluorene)s
Based on a carbazole-functionalized polyspirobifluorene with high fluorescence quantum yield and deep-blue emission, a series of blue-, green-, and red-emitting polymers have been successfully developed by independently incorporating dibenzothiophene-S,S-dioxide (3,7SO), 4,7-diphenylbenzothiadiazole (DPBT), and 4,7-dithienylbenzothiadiazole (DTBT) as the copolymerized units to tune the emission color in the whole visible region.
Solution Processible Red Iridium Dendrimers Containing Oligocarbazole Dendrons for Efficient nondoped and doped Phosphorescent OLEDs
Solution processible red Ir dendrimers named R-D1, R-D2 and R-D3, which contain quinoline-based homoleptic complex as the core and oligocarbazole as the dendron, have been facilely and successfully designed and synthesized via a post-dendronization procedure. With the increasing dendron generation from R-D1 to R-D3, the intermolecular interactions and luminescence quenching in solid states are found to be effectively prevented because of the encapsulation from the outer dendrons.
Oligocarbazole-Encapsulated Heteroleptic Red Iridium Complex for Solution-Processed Nondoped Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting Diodes with Over 10% External Quantum Efficiency - Journal of Materials Chemistry C (RSC Publishing)
A novel self-host red Ir dendrimer D-(PPQ)2Ir(acac) has been developed for solution-processed nondoped phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) by fully encapsulating the heteroleptic complex (PPQ)2Ir(acac) with oligocarbazole at both the C^N and O^O ligands. Due to the shielding effect from the dendritic wedge, the intermolecular interactions and luminescence quenching are found to be significantly reduced from (PPQ)2Ir(acac) to D-(PPQ)2Ir(acac).
Solution-processed multilayer green electrophosphorescent devices with self-host iridium dendrimers as the nondoped emitting layer: achieving high efficiency while avoiding redissolution-induced batch-to-batch variation - Chemical Communications (RSC Publ
Self-host Ir dendrimers have been adopted as the nondoped emitting layer for the successful construction of multilayer green phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) prepared via layer-by-layer solution processing with orthogonal solvents. Unlike previous doped systems, the risk of small-molecular-phosphor redissolution by alcohols and the resultant serious batch-to-batch variation can be eliminated.

Single Molecular Tuning of Charge Balance in Blue-Emitting Iridium Dendrimers for Efficient Nondoped Solution-Processed Phosphorescent OLEDs
A single molecular tuning of charge balance has been demonstrated here by integrating the p-type dendron, n-type dendron and a blue emissive Ir core into one dendritic platform. Compared with the commonly-used physical blending, not only the charge balance can be well tailored, but also the intrinsic phase separation can be successfully eliminated in such developed single molecular systems (B-TCz2TPO1 and B-TCz1TPO2).
