Associations of metabolic score for insulin resistance with type 2 diabetes, cancer, and all-cause mortality: a meta-analysis of cohort studies
Abstract Objective: Insulin resistance (IR) constitutes a central pathophysiological mechanism underlying a spectrum of chronic metabolic disorders. The Metabolic Score for Insulin Resistance (METS-IR), which integrates fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and body mass index (BMI), serves as a simple, cost-effective surrogate marker for IR.
Nuclear OXCT1 attenuates histone β-hydroxybutyrylation-mediated MHC-I transcription
|
Abstract Understanding of the metabolic determinants influencing immunotherapy responsiveness remains limited. Here we performed a multiomics analysis of tumor biopsies from patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) and revealed that heightened expression of OXCT1, a rate-limiting enzyme in ketone body metabolism, was negatively correlated with ICB efficacy, whereas its metabolic substrate, β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), displayed an opposite effect.

Cell Viability, Drug Screening, and Mechanism Study Under Mild Phototherapy Integrated Chemotherapy (PIC) (Adv. Sci. 45/2025)
Graphical Abstract Phototherapy Integrated Chemotherapy Mild phototherapy integrated chemotherapy (mild-PIC) monitored by real-time impedance spectroscopy enhances drug efficacy in liver cancer via the “More Light-Aiding, Less Bonding (LALB)” mechanism, achieving higher targeting with lower toxicity. More details can be found in the Research Article by Ning Yang, Xingcai Zhang, and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/advs.202502836).
Effectiveness and Safety of Oral Azvudine for Elderly Hospitalized Patients With COVID‐19: A Multicenter, Retrospective, Real‐World Study
1 Introduction The global Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has lasted over four years and lead to more than 774 million infections and 7 million deaths.[1] Although the World Health Organization (WHO) declared in May 2023 that the COVID-19 epidemic no longer constitutes a public health emergency of international concern, the epidemic dominated by the Omicron strain continues to endanger people's lives and...

S2I2N0-3 score predicts short‐ and long‐term mortality and morbidity in HFrEF: a post‐hoc analysis of the GUIDE‐IT trial
Introduction Heart failure (HF) represents a complex clinical syndrome that is mostly the culmination of various forms of cardiovascular (CV) disease, with high 1-year mortality and hospitalization rate of 7.2% and 31.9%, respectively.1 In recent years, the number of patients with HF is still increasing, which has resulted in a social and economic burden.2 Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) is the most common type of HF as it accounts for approximately 50% of all cases.1...
