1. Introduction Coral reefs are marine ecosystems with high biological productivity and biodiversity, and scleractinian corals are the basis for the healthy development of coral reef ecosystems [1]. The symbiosis between scleractinian corals and zooxanthellae is the most fundamental ecological feature of coral reef ecosystems [2]. The coastal areas of Hainan Island are important coral reef habitats.
