Abstract Halogenation enhances the stability and function of pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, and industrial compounds. However, chemical halogenation of molecules and peptides can lack stereoselectivity and require the use of toxic chemicals. Although enzymatic halogenation can improve selectivity and reduce environmental impact, current halogenases are inefficient and insoluble, leading to low yields that limit their applications.

By Justin Booth We need more space for people to be outside safely during the Covid-19 crisis. Our parks and trails are too full, and our sidewalks too narrow for social distancing. We need to open our streets to create accessible public spaces in every community. It is becoming clear that returning to normal will be a phased approach and, even when lessened, many restrictions will still be in place for some time.
