And with Abarrientos hitting back-to-back four-point shots and Brownlee nailing the dagger jumper, the Gin Kings salvaged a 102-100 opening victory over TNT in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals last night.

MANILA, Philippines -- The Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings are headed to the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals. Barangay Ginebra banked on big-time performances by Justin Brownlee and RJ Abarrientos to boot out the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 118-107, in Game 6 Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo and clinch a ticket to the finals. Brownlee and Abarrientos finished with 31 and 30 points, respectively, in the clincher.

Despite holding a 3-2 series lead over Rain or Shine in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semis series, Barangay Ginebra is not resting on its laurels it aims to wrap things up in Game 6. The Gin Kings grabbed a huge Game 5 win on Friday over the Elasto Painters, 111-104, to move to just one more game from the import-laden conference’s finals. But Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said the job is far from over. “Well, first of all, we're not gonna be happy with this win.
