As a kid, but yes.

Sarah Jane Smith from Doctor Who.

Why did you become a journalist?

I enjoy telling stories and both informing and entertaining readers at the same time.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes! I wrote articles for it.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Keep trying. Keep at it. Keep pitching the publications you want to publish you. Someday they just might.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime! I'm always open.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

An obvious ad for a video game system as a tie-in with summer vacation travel.

What's your favorite drink?

I'm a craft beer snob.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On my motorcycle, in the garage, or watching TV with my wife, dog, and cats.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That auto journalists have an endless line of free press cars that manufacturers throw at them.
