Oshkosh police seize over 600 illegal fireworks worth $29,000

OSHKOSH ― Oshkosh Police Department seized around $29,000 worth of fireworks last week after claiming a business was in violation of city ordinances by selling illegal fireworks from a trailer. According to an OPD release, authorities confiscated over 600 fireworks June 27 after inspecting a fireworks stand in the 800 block of North Washburn Street. In the statement, police said the employees admitted to selling the fireworks out of a separate trailer that was parked away from the stand.
