The low-budget indie horror film Obsession was an instant hit slated to earn up to $250 million dollars. After the film's release, Sally Choi, the film's art director, went public on Instagram with the salary she made on the film. In the post, she expressed her frustration that the $6,712 she received was paltry in comparison to both the work she put in to the film and the profit it was now projected to make.

When popular TV shows completely change their premise they often take the viewer along for a ride. Sometimes that ride is a welcomed change of pace. Other times it can feel more confusing than anything else -  like when family sitcoms introduce time travel, kill off characters to change the name of the show, or throw aliens and other supernatural beings into the mix that don't belong there.

You've Got Mail, starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, is the modern world's first rom-com about the joys and perils of online dating. The two characters, Joe and Kathleen, fall in love while sending each other messages in an AOL chat room. The twist? The pair are bitter rivals in real life, and only one of them knows it. When Joe finds out his digital pen pal is the owner of the bookshop his giant retail chain is trying to conquer, he doesn't share this knowledge with Kathleen.
