A spring warmup will carry Southern California into a pleasant weekend before cooler, cloudier conditions return early next week, forecasters said. Coastal temperatures hovered in the mid to upper 60s Thursday, with Long Beach near 69 degrees and Huntington Beach around 65. The Antelope Valley climbed into the low 80s, while desert communities pushed toward the low 90s.

A quick-hitting storm swept through Southern California on Tuesday, delivering periods of heavy rain across the region. The highest totals were reported in Ventura County, where some higher-elevation areas recorded more than 2 inches. Coastal and valley areas in Southern California generally saw an inch or less.
