Abstract The present computational study investigates the influence of pin-fin geometry on flow and heat transfer characteristics within a converging channel mimicking a gas turbine blade’s trailing edge. The analysis employs a conjugate heat transfer approach, considering two distinct pin-fin shapes: circular and square. The primary focus lies in evaluating how these shapes affect crucial parameters, including turbulent kinetic energy, pressure, velocity, temperature, and heat flux.

Abstract Cultivation of plant cell cultures in conventional bioreactors designed for microbial cells often results in the decrease of biomass productivity as compared to that in shake flasks, presumably due to the imbalance between the mass transfer requirements and compromise with cell viability. Hit and trial methods are usually adapted to achieve high biomass productivity in the bioreactor.
