1 Introduction Social determinants of health (SDH) are the cultural, economic, educational, and healthcare accessibility-related conditions in which an individual is born or lives, all of which can affect that individual's overall health [1, 2]. Although the United States ranks among the richest countries in the world per capita, its citizens experience significant health disparities that are rooted in the political and economic value systems of their environment.
