Karen Asp is an award-winning journalist and author who covers fitness, health, wellness, nutrition and animals (companion and farmed). Throughout her 20+-year career, she's been a contributing editor for Woman's Day, fitness columnist For Allure, pet columnist for Better Homes & Gardens, contributing writer for VegNews, contributing health editor for TheBeet.com (now defunct). Other credits include AARP's The Girlfriend, Everyday Health, Eating Well, Forks Over Knives, Midwest Living, Peloton, Prevention, Real Simple, SELF, Sentient Media, Insider, Outside, USA Today’s magazines, Best Friends, Vegetarian Times, Runner's World, Bicycling and Women’s Health. Anti-Aging Hacks is her latest book. Karen is also a certified personal trainer, certified vegan coach, and plant-powered athlete who holds several world records in Nordic walking. She devotes most of her spare time to rescuing dogs, especially those from puppy mills, and volunteering with animal-related organizations, including GRRACE (golden retriever rescue), local animal shelter, WWLDO (ntl. advocacy group working to fix the shelter crisis), and VINE, an LGBTQ-led farmed animal sanctuary
