Oslo, Norway, 6 May 2026 - Kongsberg Maritime has won a contract with Austal USA to supply its Promas propulsion system to the next four ships in the United States Coast Guard’s Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) Heritage Class program. The Coast Guard’s new OPC program represents a significant investment in maritime capability and is expected to run up to 25 ships.

Kongsberg Maritime to Power Med Marine’s Next-Generation Tugs with Advanced Thruster and Winch Technology Original

Oslo, Norway – 18 November 2025 – Kongsberg Maritime has signed a significant contract with Turkish shipbuilder and leading tugboat operator Med Marine to supply US series azimuth thrusters and a combination of electric and hydraulic towing winches for nine new tug designs. The agreement includes Med Marine’s new ‘VoltRA’ all-electric tug, which will be built at the company’s Ereğli Shipyard, renowned for its modern infrastructure and craftsmanship.
