Editor's note: June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. The Alzheimer’s Association is encouraging everyone to take charge of their brain health. I moved into my mother’s assisted-living apartment after she broke her pelvis in October 2020. Her community was on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My pitch was my ticket in: It would be safer and less cognitively disruptive for our mother to return home for rehab. I could be her essential caregiver. Dementia led to our mother’s fall.

An Old Version of Ourselves

It can be brutal and terrifying to shed the old version of yourself. The Uncomfortable Catalyst for Change The process rarely happens by choice. From what I’ve witnessed growing up, people change only when they really (really, really) have to. You’ve got to hit rock bottom and hit it again, so you’re faced with nothing but yourself, your emotions, and the necessity for change. In fact, discomfort becomes the catalyst — when the price of staying the same finally costs more than making a change.

I QUIT MY JOB

Rest in peace to all the opportunities I missed because I choose to work in a company for almost 5 years all because of loyalty. it’s Sad..SO Sad.. I settled.. I settled for an income just enough to get by.. I realized this is not the life I deserve. Although it might seem late but I need better.. This life is so short, why should I waste my time in a place I am not growing? I choose to develop myself.
