Plurilingual videos: bridging L2 and L3 for vocabulary and fluency

Even though the impact of subtitles and captions on foreign language learning has been widely researched, there is a need for new techniques facilitating the acquisition of not one, but several languages simultaneously. In the present study, the effectiveness of an innovative screening mode, namely, L2 audio + L3 subtitles has been investigated. The participants were upper–intermediate learners of English (L2) and pre–intermediate of Spanish (L3).
