What was your first job as a journalist?
Writing for Northwestern University's daily paper, The Daily Northwestern. I was an arts and culture reporter and later a Web editor.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes. As a child, my parents let me play around with an old model with numerous sticky and missing keys. I loved the sounds it made.
How is social media changing news?
News breaks faster, but this necessitates journalists to fact check, report and contextualize the information for their readers.
