Having read and loved Miciah Bay Gault’s “Goodnight Stranger,” I was thrilled to dig into her newest novel, “The Nobody Code.” The exquisitely crafted book of this Falmouth native, who summers here regularly as the stepdaughter of Flying Elbows band member Tom Hodgson, does not disappoint. Gault takes us on a mysterious journey where imaginative folklore, a possible death, maybe a ghost, and perhaps a touch of haunting weave an engrossing tale.

The new illustrated book “Sailing with Angels: A Poetic Tale of Grief and Grace” features an image of a sailboat on the cover, with the numbers 627 printed on the sail. The numbers 627 are, of course, the first three digits of all Edgartown phone numbers back in the days of landlines. Seeing this sweet nod to Edgartown on the cover of a book reminds me of driving down a highway and passing a car with an ILUVMV license plate.

On Sunday night, in a packed auditorium at the Performing Arts Center, Mark Leibovich turned to Maggie Haberman and quipped, “Maggie, look out at this crowd. Trump couldn’t draw a crowd like this.” Leibovich and Haberman are both veteran journalists and best-selling authors who have written extensively about Donald Trump’s presidencies.
