I am an award-winning journalist, editor and academic researcher. I hold a PhD in Gender and Cultural Studies, and am passionate about gender equity and social justice, particularly in sport.

In 2019 I won the VicHealth award for Outstanding Reporting of Women's Sport, an award I was Highly Commended for in 2018. What was your first job as a journalist?

My first newsroom gig was Deputy Sports Editor at the Guardian. Other than that I have primarily freelanced

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Only when, as a kid, my Grandma showed me how things worked "in the olden days"!

How is social media changing news?

If you look at women's sport, there's a lot of people asking mainstream media to change and do better. That's a good thing
