A new Washington think tank report puts a staggering number on the human cost of the Ukraine war: more than 2 million Russian and Ukrainian troops killed or wounded since Moscow's full-scale invasion in 2022. The Center for Strategic and International Studies estimates Russia has suffered about 1.4 million casualties, including some 450,000 deaths. Ukraine's losses are estimated at up to 625,000 casualties, with up to 150,000 killed.
