There’s no way it’s my first, but it’s the one my brain recalls — about Shakori Hills, specifically — nearly 20 years ago. It’s a running theme over the conversations I’ve looked back on since her passing on Aug. 2. Inspired by my most recent Triad twin-city music dilemma (two rad electronic shows on the same night), I figured it’s worth touching base about the Triad’s techno music world. Move over Shark Week, Greensboro is under an animal attack of rock ‘ n ‘ roll ferocity as Killer Antz march over to the Back Table with Winston’s Dai Cheri and Janus 4-14 on July 17. Oh, and Tiger Bear Wolf is set to descend upon the Flat Iron on July 18 – after a nearly two-decade hibernation – with the Bronzed Chorus, Kudzu Wish, and a new record to boot, no big deal.
